Parish Development Committee
Appointed by the pastor, the PDC consists of 8 to 12 faith-filled parishioners who sacrifice their time and talents to carry out this important ministry of the Church. The PDC is led by two parishioners who are committee Co-Chairpersons. It can be further organized into as many as six working subcommittees who concentrate on various areas of funding.
The PDC is also responsible for the development of an annual report to present to the parish regarding accomplishments of the preceding year, the challenges being faced, and the goals for the forthcoming year. The PDC is also responsible for overseeing any major parish fundraising efforts, including capital campaigns.
Subcommittees of the PDC include:
- Annual Giving (Weekly Offertory)
- Major Giving
- Legacy Giving
- Catholic School
- Youth Giving
- Archbishop’s Annual Appeal
Buildings and Properties Committee
The Buildings and Properties Committee is charged with developing an ongoing plan for the maintenance and upkeep of our parish facilities. As an aging plant, our buildings sometimes present challenges. The Committee’s goal is to be good stewards of the facilities that we have inherited from the hard work of the generations that have preceded us. The Committee developed the plans for the renovation of the former convent building into a Parish Center and the relocation of the school library and technology lab as well as expansion of the school administrative offices. The Committee also oversaw the restoration of the church in 2004. Currently, the Committee is focusing on developing a preventative maintenance plan as well as the repair and updating of our heating and air conditioning systems.
Total Parish Development
St. Michael the Archangel is a parish that is committed to calling forth the gifts of every member of the community. We are now in the process of offering new ways to encourage the involvement of parishioners on many levels. A core team is forming to more effectively utilize the time and talents of our many dedicated parishioners.
